Prof Gurbhajan Gill’s New Book “Sandhoor Dani” Released Today

Ludhiana, May 10, 2018 (Hardik Kumar): Eminent Punjabi Poet and former President of Punjabi Sahit Akademi Ludhiana Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill’s new book titled “Sandhoor Dani” was released at Vice Chancellor’s Committee Room in Punjab Agricultural University, here today. This book was released by PAU VC Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon and Punjab Arts Council Chairman Dr Surjit Patar in the presence of several other poets.

“Sandhoor Dani” is Prof Gill’s 15th book and it comprises of more than 300 Rubai’s (a poem or a verse of a poem consisting of four lines) in Punjabi language.

While speaking on the occasion, Dr Baldev Singh Dhillon said that there is a need to promote Rubai’s, Dohare, Baint and other such forms of poetry writing that are slowly dying. He congratulated Prof Gurbhajan Singh Gill for bringing out a book of Rubai’s.

Dr Surjit Patar said that Prof Gill has been promoting Punjabi language and culture for the last several decades. He said that “Sandhoor Dani” is one of the unique book’s of Punjabi language that consists of more than 300 Rubai’s. Punjabi Sahit Akademi President Prof Ravinder Bhathal also congratulated Prof Gill for his new book.

Punjabi Sahit Akademi General Secretary Dr Surjit Singh, Dr Jagwinder Singh Jodha, UK based Historian Ranjit Singh Rana, UK based poet Dr Tara Singh Alam, writer Gurpreet Singh Toor IPS, Tej Partap Singh Sandhu, Reetinder Singh Bhinder, Kanwaljit Singh Shankar, Rajdeep Singh Toor, Dr Pritpal Kaur Chahal, poets Trailochan Lochi and Manjinder Dhanoa, Sarabjit Virdi, Amarjit Sherpuri, Dr Apminder Singh Brar, Dr Ranjit Singh Tamber, Dr Anil Sharma, besides several others were also present on the occasion.
