Ludhiana, June 04, 2018 (Akash Sharma): The gorgeous and the versatile actor Raashi Bawa is seen playing the role of Sunita in Sony SAB’s Jijaji Chhat Per Hain. Sunita is a sweet and naive girl who is always part of Elaichi’s pranks. Sunita blindly follows Elaichi and equally responsible for mischiefs done by her. Here’s a freewheeling chat with Raashi about her character in the show.

Q): Who is Sunita? Describe your role?
A): My role is of a girl named Sunita who is a sweet, innocent girl and Elaichi’s best friend. Sunita and Elaichi have grown up together, they share a great bond and are inseparable. Sunita loves her best friend so much that she wants to be just like her and even treats Elaichi’s parents just like her own parents. She is equally responsible for all the pranks played by Elaichi and she does what she is told to do by Elaichi.

Q): How did you prepare for this role?
A):This is my first show as an actor and I did not have to do much preparations. Since Sunita is a sweet bubbly girl who doesn’t think much, she does what she’s told, I just followed my instincts. I tried putting myself in her place and thought just like her. Whenever I am in a scene I put myself in a naïve position and enact the same.

Q): How is your equation with other actors?
A): I have a great equation with all my co-actors and we have a lot of fun together. Elaichi (Hiba Nawab) is my best friend and so is Nikhil (Pancham). Initially, Nikhil and I weren’t that close but we are close now and bond well. Also, my father is part of the show who plays the role of Daroga Pinky (Naveen Bawa), so this place is just like another home for me.

Q): Any particular memory you would like to share while shooting for the show?
A): Every memory plays a special role in my life but one such memory I would like to share is about the first day of our show’s telecast. All of us were sitting together watching the first episode and I saw myself on screen. It was a really emotional moment for everyone especially for my father and it is one of the fondest memory I have.

Q): How relatable is the character of Sunita to Raashi in real life?
A): Sunita and Raashi and really different to each other. In real life I am a little naïve but not as naïve as my character in the show. Sunita is someone who lives her life the way she is told to live but when it comes to Raashi, she is an independent girl who has always been on her own and lives life on her own terms.

Q): What is your favourite past- time?
A): In my free time, I usually love to write, paint or read. I love everything related to art and I use my free time to be by myself and indulge in activities I love to do.

Q): Any interesting fan moment you would like to recall?
A): Well yes, I have a lot of memories but one memory that I would love to share was when Hiba (Elaichi) and I were at a nearby mall and a two and half year-old kid walked towards me and told me a phrase I use a lot in the show which is ‘Ellu Selfie’. It felt special that such a young kid also remembered this. It was just an amazing fan moment and I would remember for lifetime.
