Ludhiana, August 24, 2019 (Akash Sharma): The Entrepreneurship – Cell of PCTE Group of Institutes and the department of Business Management organized a Startup Master Class to promote and foster Startup ecosystem in the region where around 250 participants from the startup community and professionals attended and benefited from the program.

K S Bhatia, Chairman, Punjab Startup Committee, PHD Chamber and Co-Founder and CEO, Pumpkart.com said the vision of the Punjab Startup Committee is to create 20 big startups from the region by the year 2022. He shared his success story during the program and motivated the participants to dream big and have passion for entrepreneurial endeavor.

Pushpinder Singh, Director, TAN Advisors Pvt. Ltd., Ludhiana discussed about the idea generation and how to pitch ideas during the program.

CA Gaurav Singhal, Co- Chairman, Punjab Taxation Committee and Director, Heads Up Consulting P. Ltd., Gurugram, said an important first step in starting up a business is incorporation of a legal vehicle/ entity. He covered in detail the steps undertaken in starting in formation of a company, highlighted practical challenges and pitfalls to avoid any delays in the formation processes well as recommendations for maximizing the likelihood of a successful fund raise.

Divya Kaushik, Scientist, Patent Information Centre/ Technology Innovation Support Centre, Punjab State Council for Science and Technology (PSCST), Chandigarh made comprehensive presentation on importance, registration and filing of patents for startups and how patents bars entry to competitors .

Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, Chandigarh, shared various schemes and financial assistance provided by Government of India and State government for startups.

Hardeep Somal, Senior Consultant, Startup Punjab, Government of Punjab, highlighted the policy guidelines and the various incentives provided by state government for startups.

Prof. Naresh Sachdev, Faculty of Business Management, said that the entire event was very informative for the students where the experts explained every bit of starting up a business and that helped in Entrepreneurial aspects.

Dr. Gautum Bansal, Director, PCTE Group of Institutes recognized the presence of dignitaries by presenting them mementos.

Dr. KNS Kang, Director General, PCTE Group of Institutes congratulated the entire team for successfully organizing the event and further said that it was a great learning for the students and faculty of different departments.
